Peter Alsop, Anna Reed and Richard Wolfe
Hardback with jacket, 416 pages

Large book (280mm x 260mm) with a selection of double foldout pages.

Leonard Cornwall Mitchell (1901-71) has been called the father of New Zealand graphic design; a stand-out illustrator and designer across tourism and commercial work.

Leonard Victor Mitchell (1925-80) won the Kelliher Art Prize on two occasions; art was clearly in his genes.

In the authors’ words,  “No other family can likely claim such a diverse contribution to New Zealand art”.

The selection of Mitchell senior’s work shown on this page will be recognisable to many of our readers – tourism posters, postage stamps, paintings and particularly the Centennial Exhibition graphic masterpiece – images that were part of our childhood journey.

This beautifully presented book and valuable collectible can be purchased through New Zealand Memories. The price is exceptional for a volume of this size and remarkable quality. It will certainly be enjoyed by the whole family.

In addition, we will include a free Her Story book with all orders placed before Mother’s Day (9 May 2021) as a special promotion.
